Here is our review, on Kershaw Knives Scallion Model 1620, Black

I can honestly say, in the very begining of this review this is one of the finest small folding knives that I have reviewed in a very long time. This knife is made in the U.S.A. in the Kershaw Knives Tualatin, Oregon manufacturing facility.

One thing to note, is the promptness and professional courtesy that Kershaw Knifes has shown, to my Team and I in regards to replying so quickly and sending us this knife for our review. The blade is 2 1/4 inches, this may be a better "fit" in regards to your state local laws in the U.S.A., as always check your local laws. The blade has dual thumb studs and also has the Kershaw "speed safe" assited opening when pressing on the "flipper", making one handed operation really easy. The blade also has three small holes.. some people call these "skeleton holes", it makes the blade lighter. There is nice gimping on the top of the blade for the thumb grip. The metal of the blade is 420HC which is more corrrosion resistant because of less carbon. There is also a half serrated edge models of this knife.

The handle is bead blasted nylon and glass filled, very nice grip texzture and light weight. Also, from our research, the pocket clip (tip down postion) is made out of T6 anodized aluminum. The handle also has a laynard hole which we were able to use some nice 550 black paracord and a snake knot style laynard, which came out very nice. Also, on one side of the handle, towards the back, there is a "tip lock" which when engaged, allows the kniofe to be carried directly in the pocket, without fear of the blade flipping open. There is a pivot point torx or star bolt and two other smaller torx or star bolts in the handle, that you can tighen if need be. There is also a red, blue, green, yellow, rainbow, purple, olive drab, and stainless steel handle models.

For over a week, I've been cutting cardboard, certain sized rope, paper, thin wire with this folding knife and it has been a joy as the blade never "folds", it maintains a great edge. This knife was also designed by Ken Onion.. you will see his name a lot in the knife world, as he has designed some of the best top models of knives out there. I feel that the curve towards the hilt of this knife, gives it unique cutting power.

If you need a dependable small knife while on work duty, get this one!  -Tom

Here is our review, on Kershaw Knives Shuffle Model 8700, Black:

It took a bit, but we were able to get this Kershaw Shuffle Model 8700 for review. One thing to note, that Kershaw Knives (like the other companies that have reviewed so far on our site) always treat my team and myself with great professional courtesy, which I very much appreciate. It is very hard to keep that level of professional courtesy when you are a large company like Kershaw Knives.. I wish more companies were more like them.

Ok.. first... to note right off of the bat, there are "no issues" with holding the knife. The bottle opener "does not" go into your hand. There are some reviews "out there" that say this is an issue.. I assure you, it is "not". I have big hands and I have no problems holding this knife. The bottle opener, and standard screwdriver on the back handle works well and putting a laynard on the screwdriver part, does not stop the use of the screwdriver. The knife has a Liner Lock, a reversible pocketclip (Tip up only).

The knife is made from 8Cr13MoV or 3Cr13MoV steel that has an bead-blasted finish. The handle also has an glass-filled nylon, K-Texture grip (like small letter"k" all over the handle grip).

I love the blade length 2 3/8 inches and is very wide for such a small knife. This is perfect for EDC (every day carry) or for work duty. I've cut carboard, carpet, paracord, even small pieces of wood with no issues to the blade.. at all. This knife is worth buying! - Tom

In July 2004, The Schrade name was purchased by Taylor Brands LLC, who manufacture Schrade, Old Timer, Imperial, Uncle Henry and Smith & Wesson knives

Here is our review on the Schrade SCH101 and SCH101S Liner Lock Folding Knives.

I was watching a knife review video on these two Schrade knives, and the reviewer kept on comparing these knives, with another brand of knife. While I will not get into what group was doing the actual review.. it seemed very biased. We have covered a number of Schrade tools in the past and never have seen any major issues at all. So here is our review.

First, we start with the handle of each knife. The handle is made out of G-10 material and has an Lanyard Hole and Pocket Clip. The handle also has very nice jimping on the top where the users thumb would rest. Also, the handle has what I like to call a "trigger" rest, the users index finger rests VERY nicely in the hand for a great grip. I've never seen that sort of grip before and neither has my team.

Next, we look at each blade. Each blade has a 9Cr14Mov High Carbon Stainless Steel which is equal to 440C. Both are drop point, however the SCH101S model has a partially serrated edge, both blades are 2.6 inches. Both knives came hair shaving sharp and cut very well. The serrations on the SCH101S model were also very sharp and we were able to cut thru freshly cut tree branches from a tree that was recently cut down, without any issues. That's sharp! Both blades have "no play" and the liner lock is "rock solid".

Both of these knives cost a lot less (WAY LESS) then other companies, with the same quality materials, and Schrade really casts a challenge to other companies out there in regards to these knives. Schrade also makes larger version of these knives. They are the model SCH101L and the partially serrated edge version SCH101S both blade leangths are 3.2 inches. Both these knives would be great in any bug out bag or for every day carrying use while on work duty, camping or hiking. Simply Awesome! - Tom

Here is our review on the Sheffield Absaroka and Professional Folding Pocket Liner Lock Folding Knives.

The first knife that we will be reviewing is the Sheffield Absaroka. This knife looks "very close" to another manufacturer, but less in cost. The whole knife as an anodized titanium finish that some people say that it's is "rainbow" color in appereance. The handle is all metal and does not have a lanyard hole. The blade is a drop point with a partially serrated edge 2 3/4 inches, the steel is 420hc from what we researched. I really love this knife.. but there is one thing that bothers me, the knife is very hard to open with one hand. It seem that the blade sticks a little. I try using some oil on the blade and still the blade is very hard to open one handed. Two handed is way easier. The blade is very sharp as well as the serrations. I still like this knife very much, but just keep in mind the one hand operation is a bit tricky. Hopefully after some use, the blade will break in.

The second knife that we reviewed was the Sheffield Professional folding knife. This knife is very nice for the price. The handle is made out of aluminum and reminds me of some para-frame knives that I have seen. The knife is meant to be light. The handle does have a lanyard hole.

The blade is 2 3/4 inches and is a Tanto shape, 420hc. One thing to note, is the blade is only "single edged", but other than this knife handles very well. This is a great all around knife for every day carrying. A joy to use. - Tom
