The Breakdown on the Sheffield 12009 20-in-1 Multi tool:

20-in-1 Multi-Tool offers high quality construction, versatility and follows our long stemming tradition of value. The tool has a rubber grip ABS handle and comes with a bonus nylon belt pouch. The Multi-Function Tool Includes: Long Nose Pliers, Regular Pliers, 1/4" Slotted Screwdriver, 1/8” Slotted Screwdriver, 1/16” Slotted Screwdriver, #2 Phillips Screwdriver, 2-1/2 Partially Serrated Clip Blade, 2-1/2” Wood Saw, Bottle Opener, Can Opener, Wire Cutters, Wire Stripper, Hard File, Soft File, Fish Scaler, Hook Remover, 3” Ruler and Awl.

 

The Handle:

 

• There is rubber grips recessed in the handle that provides awesome non-slip griping power. The handles and the unit over all is very big and rock solid, and we had no problem getting a hold on anything using the pliers.

 

• When both handles open, they “snap” into place, locked solid.

 

• There are two allen on the top sides of the handles and bottom. We think that they are size 10. If you have a allen wrench set you should be able to tighten them “if needed”, currently they are very tight on this unit.

 

The Tools:

 

• The first tool that we noticed is the knife. This knife is about 2 1/2 inches and is a drop point

blade. It has a partial serrated blade which is very useful if you are cutting thick rope or even a small piece of wood. Even though the knife has one beveled edge, it is very sharp out of the package. We believe that the steel is 2RC13 / 420A, which means that the knife is easier to sharpen and is more corrosion resistant because of the lower carbon of the steel.

 

• The pliers grip really great. The wire cutters inside the pliers are very sharp!

 

• All the tools are noted above, and are very soild in operation. We were able to take a part a lot of computers and other equpment with easy. One of the main two tools that we always look at.. and the most needed are not just the knife, but the philips head and also standard screwdriver. Both of these screwdrivers are way better than other more expensive units out there. One of the tools that we really liked using was the wood saw, again.. very sharp

 

The Sheath:

 

• The sheath looks like it is made from strong nylon; the belt loop has nice stitching on it and seems to us to be very solid. One of the awesome things to note, is that the sheath can be used not just vertically.. but also as in a "horozontal" carry option on the belt of the user.
  This is really great as it is very comfortable to wear in this manner!

 

Conclusion:

 

• This tool is just awesome for commercial use, and it's low price point and massive size over shadows a lot of higer priced models out there. We were able to open, close, cut, slice a number of items. This is a heavy duty tool that can stand up to rough use. 5 stars!

A Small And Handy Little Tool That Attaches To Any Key Ring Simply By Closing The Tool.

• Multi-Function Tool Includes: Fine Pliers, Large Pliers, Knife Blade, Can Opener, Tweezers, Slotted Screwdriver, Phillips Screwdriver, Wire Cutter/Strippers and File

• Folding Compact Design

• Interlocking Key Ring Holder

 

The Handle:

 

• There is no grips on the handles of the small multi tool. Just smooth stainless steel.

 

• When both handles swing outwards to open, the pliers stay open.

• The unit folds up in a very neat package, and is small enough to stay on a keychain or even in a one of those altoids tin "survival" cans. It's that small and compact.

 

The Tools:

 

• This knife is about 1 1/2 inches and is a drop point blade. It is very useful if you are cutting small cordage like paracord. We believe that the steel is, again 2RC13 / 420A, which means that the knife is easier to sharpen and is more corrosion resistant because of the lower carbon of the steel.

 

• All the tools are noted above, and are very soild in operation for such a small tool. As all "micro tools" your not going to be ripping a part large equipment, but having this tool on a keychain or your on pocket for everyday carry you won't be left without. We really like the bottle opener and also the file on this tool.

 

 

Conclusion:

 

• We would rather have this tool, then not have it. For light use and emergency use it excels as a great option and it weights hardly anything at all. Also to note that you can fit this into the sheath of the Sheffield 12009 20-in-1 Multi tool sheath, there is enough room in the sheath for both.
