Hello! First is our review of all four 2014 Schrade pocket knives from Taylor Brands, follow by two of thier new 2014 tactical pens.

Above are some new products from Taylor Brands, under thier Schrade line for 2014. The one thing that Schrade always brings to thier product offering is quality at a really affordable price point, they give you "way more" then most companies.

Four Knives Review: I had the opportunity to test out these knives recently when visiting the blue ridge mountains in North Carolina. All 4 knives are flawless, and are beyond razor sharp from the factory. One thing to note is a lot of people go for the stright edge bladed version of any knife... But one thing to remember, the parital serrations like on the SCH304S and the SCH303S are great for cutting\sawing thru small branches and also rope and cord, just keep that in mind. The 9Cr18MoV High Carbon Stainless Steel is the same as 440C grade, and the entire knife is Titanium Coated inclusing the handle scales. These knives are perfect for every day carrying or in a survial bag. Another thing to note is these are very slim and you hardly notice it using the pocket clip. There is also a laynard hold towards to back of each knife, and they all have a liner lock and ambidextrous thumb studs. NO play in the blade at all, rock solid. In regards to all four pocket knives, these are truly a great option of a low profile knife.. for price and function. Lastly, the blade is about 2 1/2 inches which a lot of retricted states and buildings location may allow carrying this in the open, as always check with your local laws.

 

Two Tactical Pens Review: Our good friends at Taylor Brands, also sent us two new tactical pens for 2014, these are CNC Machined 6061 T6 Black Aluminum, aircraft grade type of aluminum and very strong, they both have tips that can go thru about 6 sheets of cardboard.. that's a lot of damage that such a simple self-defense tool can do. The SCPEN6BK model also has a survial whistle in its cap. I've been writing with this pen all week long, and it's writes very well too, a great pen. The next model is the SCPEN7BK, the pen is a bit wider, but that is to compensate for the ink cartridge. This is actually a modern version, or an old "fountain pen", it comes with a metal qill or "nib" instead of a ball point pen tip. My "calligraphy" is not as good as it once was, but the pen does a great job in regards to writing. Again, I can go thru about 6 layers of cardboard when striking using the metal tip ,so again a great self defense option. These types of pens are the newest form of "pocket stick" that both martial mrtists, law enforment and security personnel have used for years, now in a more disreet form. I love both of these pens, as they are light, tough and they do not look out of the ordinary... "security thru obscurity" are the words that fit well.

Another big plus that we love about these pens, is the cap screws on and off rather than popping off, this make the pen way more secure.

 

Conclusion: My team and I,  really appreciate how Taylor Brands always responds to our requests. In regards to the companies who we do reviews for, we try not to ask for some many items all at once, yet Tayor Brands always sends items promptly, per request... and my Team and I are always very grateful for that professional courtesy. Not only is their company better in regards to communication...  additionally we find that the products that they produce at Taylor Brands are equal to many higher priced brands out there in the market today. We are going to keep noting in every review that we do, as it is 100% factual.

We have never had any issues with Taylor Brands products. There are some really poor review sites out there, that always have negative things to say about Taylor Brands products.. DO NOT believe them. All of the products that my team and I have reviewed over the past years are excellent and we will go verbally "toe to toe" to anyone who says otherwise.
